IN-PERSON RETREATS devoted TO Recreation and re-creation

Three full days of nature and nurture.

All of my “The Nature of . . .” retreat offerings are designed as intimate marinations in hope, a soaking in of inspiration, a place where we can reconnect to a life of spacious flow and expansive unfolding. Whether the retreats are writing-focused, soul-focused or both, you can count on the following as part of your experience:

  • An embarrassment of riches reflected in the natural world. I choose my retreat venues with care, always aiming for a blend of rugged beauty and a soft place to land (A.K.A. a nurturing home-base) Because I believe it’s important to feel held as we crack open;

  • Deep nourishment. There will be a bounty of really good food. If we’re going to nourish our mental and emotional bodies, it’s important we do the same for our physical self;

  • Time to actually retreat. Each retreat will include downtime, spaces to pull-back and draw-in. You can also count on radical permission to opt-out of any activities if that’s what’s required to opt-in to you;

  • Sharing circles. This is the primary way we engage at all of our retreats. It’s not all we do, but it’s a mainstay. We sit together. We share. We listen. We learn. I might lead, but a plethora of wisdom is added and we honor it all;

I’m walking away having witnessed love in action after having watched thirteen beautiful souls paint doorways for themselves using all the colors of the cosmos. Thank you, Steph, for reflecting back to me all the textures of joy and love.
— Tori M.

  • Opportunities for recreation within the re-creation. In order to integrate the work we do, I rely on gentle movement. Think yin yoga, walks, and cold plunges. There might even be some spontaneous dancing. We move so as to help us digest;

  • Connection. Bourgeoning community bonds that go way deeper than any old networking event. We work to connect with one another’s humanity as opposed to one another’s identity(s). This leads to a sense of freedom, feeling truly seen, and a lot of love in the room; and

  • Laughter. Is this serious work? Yes. Do we always take it, or ourselves within it, seriously? No. Laughter is holy. We engage in it with our full-bellies.

Outside of the above, each retreat is unique.

They include outlines and agendas but are intuitively tailored so as to meet the in-the-moment needs, desires and energy of the group. In other words, I have a playbook but you help create and call in a lot of what happens.

What would you like the nature of this experience to be?

Retreat Testimonials:

I really appreciated the safe space that Steph cultivated as well as the beautiful souls who participated. There was a the collective energy of exploration and growth, and it inspired me to take myself to the next level. And... waking up in the rainforest (for serious) was a pretty amazing way to start the mornings.
— Sarah D.
When I got home, my partner asked me how I was. My answer was, “BIGGER. As if something took their hands and gently expanded my wings. WOW.”
— Jean D.
I was completely bowled over by the retreat and have a feeling I will continue to feel overwhelmed with gratitude for a very long time to come. It literally filled my soul until it was pouring out of me.

I loved the process.
I loved the women.
I loved the surroundings.
I loved the evolution of the weekend as it unfolded.
I loved getting to know you on such a personal level.
I loved the Banana Slugs.

I literally could go on for pages. I watched with amazement as Steph facilitated the group with grace and patience, witnessing everyone, sharing herself equally with everyone. More. I just want more.
— Lindsey B.

I invite you to the edge of the woods. I invite you to the edge of yourself.

Join me in a forgetting of our intellectual self so as to re-member, so as to tune more deeply into the layers and nuance of who and what we really are. I can’t wait to meet and re-meet you.
